"I am a mother of triplets with cerebral palsy. And the world of special needs children has been our world for fifteen years now.

Raising children with developmental challenges is hard work. The lack of proper psychological support and comprehensive information on the topic that 'special' parents suddenly find themselves immersed in turns their life into an exhausting and stressful marathon.

Their own interests, hobbies, and dreams are put on pause. First temporarily, but then, as a rule, forever. The diagnosis of such families (both parents and children) is delayed life syndrome: in the endless pursuit of new rehabilitation, in an uncompromising fight against illness, they often postpone life's simple pleasures for later.

I know what I'm talking about; I've been through it myself. I also know how acute the need for support from others can be in such families, the need to step outside their situation, apartment, life and receive help, needed information, a free hour of time for themselves, an option for leisure activities with and without the child.

Also important are: society's acceptance of your child who is 'not like everyone else,' the feeling that you're not alone, and that there's a place where you're welcome, where people are ready to listen and help.

When I learned that the 'LEV' project for special needs children was being implemented in Novosibirsk, where communication is stated as a priority direction, where they work on creating a delicate and integrative environment for both neurotypical children and those with developmental challenges, I expressed my desire to help develop this socially relevant initiative both in word and deed.

Moreover, I offered help from my children - 15-year-old teenagers with cerebral palsy, who could become 'pioneers' and ambassadors of this center by testing its activities and providing feedback."
